FOOTHILL GIRLS SOFTBALL LEAGUE
Background Check Policy

In accordance with Sacramento ASA (governing board of rules and regulations in our region) policy, FGSL will follow guidelines set forth (February 2010) regarding the requirement of background checks. Policy states:

Any adult who participates with softball related activities of a league or team must be registered and background checked. This includes all board members, managers, coaches, assistant coaches, umpires, etc.

This will also include any parent helper who regularly helps out on a team (i.e. a volunteer who is needed to monitor the dugout but is not a coach or manager, or helps during pitching warm-ups, or volunteers to work regular snack bar shifts).

Situations may vary; please contact your league age coordinator or the league President with any questions.

To register, you will go to our online registration system and create an account, or login to your existing account.  After you create an account you can register yourself as a volunteer.  As you complete the registration process you will be prompted to complete a Background Check Consent Form.  Complete the Background Check Consent Form and send it along with a clear copy of your drivers license and a check made out to FGSL for $22 (covers insurance and background check) and mail to: FGSL, P.O. Box 458, Shingle Springs, CA 95682.
